After many years outside the classroom, I have returned to my roots of teaching social studies to middle schoolers. My last class of bright little adolescent, social studies sponge minds was in June 2004. Since then I have earned my masters, focusing on the overlap of cognitive science, neuroscience and education. While immersed in this program it became clear to me that meaningful technology integration would have a tremendous impact on education. After completion of my graduate program, I returned to my former school to help focus the school’s technology integration. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to join the Natick school system in 2011 as an instructional technology specialist. I have also spent time delivering professional development through conference presentations and working with EdTechTeacher. Although technology is certainly a passion, my true passion is teaching and learning and I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to finally use all of the ideas I have been creating in my head and sharing with others for years. This blog is my attempt to force myself to reflect on this journey.
